Where time comes from

The project, ‘Where time comes from,’ is 2 years old this summer. It is based on the same-name exhibition traveling around the world.

The photo exhibition is dedicated to 4 unique expeditions to the North Pole (in 2005, 88 people took part in the expedition on the ‘Yamal’ ice-breaker ) and the South Pole (in 2005), around the Equator (in 2006), and along the Greenwich meridian and the International Date Line (in 2007). The purpose of the expeditions was to study time and its impact on people in different parts of the globe.

In 2 years, the exhibition has traveled to more than 40 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Samara, Izhevsk, Ufa, and Chelyabinsk), to 10 cities in the Ukraine (including Kiev, Odessa, Simferopol, Kharkov, and Yalta), 6 cities of Lithuania (including Vilnius, Klaipeda, and Mazeikiai), 3 cities of Kazakhstan, as well as to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Canada, Czech Republic, and Cuba.

The interest for the exhibition, its beautiful photographs and the stories of the expedition participants about their experiments and discoveries, is constantly growing.
